On behalf of the CEF-5 Planning Committee, it is my pleasure to invite you to participate in the Fifth Biennial Caribbean Environmental Forum & Exhibition (CEF-5), to be held at the Rose Hall Resort and Spa, Montego Bay, Jamaica from 21 to 25 June, 2010.

The Fifth Biennial Caribbean Environmental Forum & Exhibition (CEF-5) is the premier sustainable development and environment forum and exhibition in the Caribbean with a regional focus and international attention. This event brings together a wide and diverse cross section of professionals and other persons concerned with or involved in environmental and developmental issues. This year we are pleased to announce the 2010 Youth Environmental Forum, a new feature of Caribbean Environmental Forum.

CEF-5 will be held in conjunction with the 2nd Caribbean Sustainable Energy Forum and the 15th Annual Wider Caribbean Waste Management Conference (ReCaribe), attracting professionals from the various disciplines to share their experiences and knowledge.

CEF-5 Environmental Statement

The Caribbean Environmental Health Institute and CEF-5 partners are committed to minimizing the environmental impact and carbon footprint of the The Fifth Biennial Caribbean Environmental Forum and Exhibition (CEF-5), the Second Caribbean Sustainable Energy Forum (CSEF-2) and the 15 th Annual Wider Caribbean Waste Management Conference (ReCaribe) by:

  • Reducing energy and water consumption at the event;
  • Decreasing the amount of solid waste produced by the event or in preparation for the event;
  • Minimizing or off-setting harmful emissions (including carbon emissions) resulting from vehicular transportation and energy consumption associated with the event;
  • Disposing of solid and liquid waste in an environmentally responsible manner; and
  • Eliminating the use of harmful chemicals at or for the event.

The CEF organizing committee invites the conference participants and exhibitors to contribute to the greening of CEF by:

  1. Reducing the amount of handouts, brochures and printed material distributed
  2. Using laptops for presentations, and distributing digital files instead of hard copies of presentations
  3. Where printed material is required: using duplex printing, print on recycled and recyclable paper (not glossy paper)
  4. Car pooling to the event (local participants).
