Solid Waste Management:
2002: Developed landfill monitoring plans for landfills constructed in the OECS countries under the OECS Solid and Ship-Generated Project 1997: Conducted a course on " The Management of Sanitary Landfills" in Trinidad. Approximately thirty-four persons were trained. 1996: Provided technical advice in the design of sanitary landfill in St. Kitts. 1996: Conducted a preliminary site evaluation of proposed sites for a new sanitary landfill for Antigua. 1995: Evaluated Garbage Disposal Operations in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Liquid Waste Management:
2001: Conducted a training course on "Operations and maintenance of Sewage treatment facilities" for representatives from across the region. 2001: Conducted a study on the waste products discharged from coconut oil production in St. Lucia, examining recycling and reuse options for the waste material 2001: Designed wastewater treatment facilities for the abattoir in St. Lucia. 2000: Trained representatives from Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados Guyana and St. Kitts/Nevis in Advance Anaerobic Wastewater Treatment.
Hazardous waste management:
2002: Conducted a training workshop on "Biomedical waste management in the Caribbean" 2001: Prepared the BASEL inventory of Hazardous Wastes focusing on Discarded and Outdated Chemicals in the Caribbean for the BASEL Convention Secretariat.
Ongoing: pesticide and heavy metal laboratory analyses and relevant laboratory training
