Professional Expertise: Water Resources Management Back
  • 2002: Prepared A Caribbean Water Vision Strategy in conjunction with the Organization of American States. The Strategy synthesizes the status of water and water resources management in the Caribbean and proposes a strategy for moving the Caribbean Water Vision to action.

  • 2002: Conducted an assessment of the status of drinking water quality in Montserrat, Grenada, St. Vincent and St. Lucia, updating a previous CEHI assessment carried out in 1999.

  • 2002: Developed a training manual on conducting sanitary surveys and conducted a training course on "Sanitary surveys", St. Vincent.

  • 2001: Led the development of model water sector policy for the Caribbean.

  • 2000: Conducted a sanitary survey of the water supply system in Anguilla.

  • 1999: Conducted an assessment of the status of drinking water quality in Montserrat, Grenada, St. Vincent and St. Lucia.

  • 1997: Carried out an Overseas Development Agency (ODA) Research Project on the development and integration of non-traditional techniques for water quality monitoring. Chemical and bacteriological data were collected for sample sites in St. Lucia, an ecological matrix and relevant taxonomic keys were prepared.

  • Ongoing: Drinking and recreational water quality laboratory analyses, water quality training.

  • CEHI is also the co-executing agency for the Integrating Management of Watersheds and Coastal Areas in Small Island States in the Caribbean project and is the Coordinating institution for the OAS Project on Freshwater resources in Small Island Developing States.
