CEHI has established itself as a leading supplier of Laboratory Services in the Caribbean. It is also known as a reliable, competent provider of services in the areas of Environmental Monitoring and Surveillance, Engineering Services, Water Resources Management and Environmental Impact Assessments.

CEHI's Technical Services

Such services are available through technical advice, consultations, project development and implementation, and training courses.

CEHI's laboratories house state of the art equipment managed by a cadre of experienced, well-trained professionals.

The Institute has widely-recognised expertise in water quality testing, as well as analysing near-shore coastal waters for swimming and bathing. Over the years, CEHI has provided wastewater testing facilities to hotels and manufacturing companies throughout the Caribbean.

The Institute also has proven capacity in the areas of heavy metals testing and pesticide residue analysis.

CEHI's engineering services focus on issues related to water supply, wastewater collection and treatment and solid and hazardous waste management.

Assistance to government agencies is provided in these areas together with assistance in the development of regional, national, community and individual level strategies for addressing the challenge of solid waste management.

The Institute is also mobilised to entertain requests from hotels across the region for services in the areas of performance evaluation, upgrade and maintenance of sewage treatment plants.

Specialised services in Environmental Health Impact Assessment are also available. These activities focus on the prediction and assessment of the impacts of development on human health issues.

Significant attention is paid to developing capacity within the region through training. The Institute is also equipped to undertake the assessment process, where required, and to aid in the review of Environmental Impact Assessments.
